Location Information
After an extensive study of the ports and bays of Puerto Rico, the Port
of Ponce was selected as the site to develop the Port of the Americas,
based on the cost of development, environmental aspects, the availability
of land for the development of 1,000 acres of value-added areas, and
access to first-class infrastructure, such as highways and airports.
It is located in Puerto Rico's southern economic center, in the island's
second most important city.
